![]() We chose to light the product with a Photoflex Starlight, to which we added a soft box to take the edge off the actual products themselves. We chose to shoot with tungsten balanced lights but you could just as effectively using LED or fluorescent sources. Providing that you’re shooting object of similar sizes, you shouldn’t need to change the lighting too much once it’s set up correctly. Getting a good lighting setup in place is key to a simplifying the whole workflow. (we just happened to have one lying about(!)), you could just as easily use a table.īehind the product area we mounted a white matte vinyl background. We simply screwed it onto a Manfrotto Super Clamp and attached that to our scaff frame. Mounting the Hague head to our grid was easy. ![]() It’s a good idea to try and secure the product surface to the head with a 1/4 inch screw as you may find your platform starts to spin by itself otherwise. To create a surface for the products to be places on, we cut a piece of MDF board, attached a white laminate sheet on top and the fixed it all to the head. Turning the head up-side-down allowed us to see all of this clearly. On the underside of the Hague head is a spirit level and the rotational dial. We chose to rig everything on a grid which meant we could adjust the height of the table and attach lights easily. You’re obviously going to need a camera too! We’ve used our Canon 5DmkIII coupled with the 24-70 lens. We used an iPad 3 with the camranger app but we tested a Nexus 7 but preferred the size of the iPad – the buttons felt easier to press accurately and the layout generally looked a little bit neater. By adding Camranger’s new PT Hub we were able to take control of the MP-360Head directly within the Camranger app on our tablet and control the movement on the head.Īs well as being able to control the MP-360 head’s movement from within the Camranger app, you can also set it up for interval shooting, or ‘Shoot, Move, Shoot’. We started off with the trusty Camranger which we already love for it’s wireless viewing and remote capturing capabilities. With our new website just around the corner, we though it would be a good time to try something a little different with our product images.
